Aviation Obstruction Light
International civil aviation authorities set requirements for obstruction lighting equipment used to increase conspicuity of structures to permit early obstruction recognition by pilots.
The marking and/or lighting of obstacles are intended to reduce hazards to aircraft by indicating the presence of the obstacles. It does not necessarily reduce operating limitations which may be imposed by an obstacle.
The light unit must be lightweight and designed for easy servicing and lamp (or flashtube) replacement. Materials used within the light unit must be selected for compatibility with their environment.
